The results of research done by various universities show that the number of people who report excellent health is nearly 50% higher for those who attend church regularly over those who don’t. For instance, results of studies done at John Hopkins University reveal “regular attendance in worship services yielded benefits to the attendees in everything from heart disease, tuberculosis, cervical cancer, chronic bronchitis, suicides, and fatal one-car automobile accidents.” Old Testament believers were told: “My son, (daughter), attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them. and HEALTH to all their flesh.” (Proverbs 4:20-22)
When Christians awaken to their full rights in the Gospels, they can have HEALTH of body as well as soul. 3 John 2 tells us: “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in HEALTH, even as thy soul prospereth.” It is also written in Hebrews 10:25 “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.” That was written over 2,000 years ago, but only in the past few years has it been discovered that gathering together to worship God is also good for your HEALTH.
You don’t have to understand everything God says. You don’t even have to agree with it. Just do it and you will be blessed. If God said it, then it’s right, and we are to obey. So, go worship, be in fellowship, and be obedient to all the things that the Word of God says. And, yes, that includes tithing, loving your enemies, and everything else you know you need to do. You will then continue to enjoy good health as you worship and fellowship with others.
